Baby, it's Cold Outside!
Many parts of our nation are experiencing that white stuff we occasionally get here in the Northwest: snow! Here it is mid-January and we are just now seeing our first snowflakes of Winter. We love snow!
If you live in a snowy or even just - brrrrr - a cold locale, remember your furry friends! Even though they have fur, they still have trouble maintaining their internal temperatures just like we do in a frigid environment. Little dogs and also cats need the help of a sweater or coat to help insulate them from wind chill or just plain low temps. And dogs, who typically adore the snow, can use little boots or paw protectors to avoid frostbitten pads.
And of course, please don't make your furry friend stay outside around the clock without at least providing them with a warm place to get out of the weather. An uninsulated dog house doesn't do it - they need a covered, heated area. If you wouldn't leave your human kid where you put your outdoor pets...then you know it is too cold for furry friends too.
We hope you enjoy this brand spankin' new year and thank you, as always, for coming to visit our doghouse!
